Tasks and goals

The Institute for European Affairs e. V. – INEA – is an ideational organization, existing as of 1995 and active in a multitude of ways (to a large extent also unofficially). The objective is, on the one hand, to achieve a greater European convergence and a greater familiarity among European leadership personalities, and, on the other hand, to avoid or alleviate emerging or already existing problems and tensions among European partners. Furthermore, the Institute is involved in the dialogue between the business and the governments of the various European states.

In this regard, the Institute particularly focuses on specific sectors that generate pan-European value. Beside the political and economic themes, the topic “Coexistence of Religions” has become an important part of the Institute’s work.

INEA has established a separate external institute for South-Eastern Europe with headquarters in Ljubljana/Slovenia and, in addition to EU liaison office in Brussels, maintains representative offices in different countries of Europe.

The Institute’s management consists of international top personalities. They initiate conferences, ambassador forums and discussion circles, deliberate on the themes of future events and provide content impetus.
